    Dvickery sad news

Loss of an awesome human and a great BOTL. Smoked a beauty that he gave me when I got the news.
  3. Oh man! That beast has rested long enough. How was it?
  4. Super happy day with my (now adult) kid and many friends. Bolivar Corona followed by a gorgeous ‘02 Hoyo DC that I shared with my son.
  5. Awesome and crispy pic man!!
  6. The last of my Bolivar Coronas acquired from a trade with @dvickery a couple years ago. Pairs perfect with a fresh squeezed screwdriver. Happy dads day to all you dads out there!!
  7. Thanks man! That was a frothed cold brew with heavy cream on ice. Super tasty with a nice stick!
  8. Iced cold brew bevvie and an older Robaina farm roll lancero
  9. Why yes I do! And yep, same brine for the loins but I inject some to ensure it cures throughout before spoiling.
  10. That’s an awesome idea, but I have far too many children around and not sure they’ll allow me to do that. Also adopted a little buddy for her to pick on yesterday. I think I’ll call him Bowmore
  11. Picked up a QdO 50 to try out at a local B&M and went for a drive to a friends place. He breeds gorgeous bengal cats and after playing with the little leopards all day I didn’t even sneeze once! I will TOTALLY be bringing one of these awesome kitties home as soon as they’re ready, which is very soon. If anyone wants one let me know and I’ll get you in touch. They come from 2 ‘C5’ parents, whatever the heck that means.
  12. Love me a sodomized bird! Plug the neck hole with a spud, and it makes for an INSANELY juicy bird, plus when the spud is fork tender, the bird is cooked perfectly

    Scotch talk

Great grab @Mike! I love that simple but tasty peaty goodness and have down 4 bottles already, but use caution opening. 3 of the 4 corks broke off on me and I had to get creative to save the whisky
  14. Great to read a review! Thanks for doing one @quickme! Now I am very much intrigued by this cigar, and I do hope they come around. Are these available at all near us fine CCFers?
  15. Massive and humbled thanks for all the love friends! I really was hesitant entering but nearly 4 years of friends pestering me to do so twisted my arm. Funny feeling winning a trophy as an adult. I think the last one I won was for a bigger version of the Boy Scouts slot car races I carved into a ‘57 Belair that slayed the comp. at church camp as I drilled out the base and filled it full of lead giving me a “heavy advantage” haha! I seriously want to enter this next year and would LOVE it if there was a ton of familiar faces in the competition. It would be fun to compare builds here and stoke some friendly trash talk and banter.
  16. Thanks man! I actually did post progress pics of this pipe while I was carving it here... I was talked into actually entering it long after I had already giving it to a friend and great BOTL @BRAC so I bought a new block and entered the pipe.
  17. Not sure if y’all have seen them at your local B&M but every year on IPSD in Feb. Brigham releases pre drilled blocks with stems for sale. Simply whittle something up and submit it to the store you bought the block from before the deadline (it was Apr. 1st this year) and they send them off to be judged. 3 categories for prizes were; Most original Best classic shape Best overall It was a really fun comp. and couldn’t believe it when they told me I had won Best overall!! They wouldn’t say how many entries but they did say it was a higher then normal amount. Top prize came with some serious swag!! The 2018 Brigham pipe of the year named; Air is super gorgeous but may be a bit too much pipe for me to ever light up and smoke. The kitbag holds 4 pipes, room for baccy, and fits all the needed gear. I really like that piece of kit. Few pics from today’s prize awarding.
  18. Upstanding gesture @Alki! I agree that the El-Cheapo extra-ordinaire is a great cutter, all the way up until it isn’t… One of the main reasons I punch-cut my sticks when I can. Shell casings are nearly free, and they hold an edge for (going on) a decade. Tidbit of side info, I absolutely despise the ‘V’cut. I’d rather anything other.
  19. Gorgeous eve, and an ugly-as-sin RASS but boy O boy is it a tasty one!

    Draw

Ok, I’ll bite. I guess I fall into the opposite side of the majority in this thread and prefer the CC end. I love a firm, yet smoke filled draw, and I find there is a different flavour for each part of the draw on a good CC. While getting close to the first pull the aroma’s are there, when getting ready, yet more flavours. While the initial first efforts in the pull are made I find I get vastly different tastes than when I am mid draw, last bit brought in, the pause, the first part of exhale, the mid exhale, the retrohale, after that I call it “the salivation pause”, and the couple steps that involve all the savoury finishing moments. With CC’s usually I can detect not just nuance, but entirely different flavours between each stage. With (some) NC’s I find they lead me to suck’r back, have a taste, puff it out, and rinse with my bevvie. At times that is exactly what I am looking for in a cigar moment, so I feel fortunate that I can say I know what I want and when I want it for the most part, but really it all boils down to doing what gives you (YOU) the most enjoyment. After all, we are all just suck-hards, or blow-hards, but we all share the same passion!
  21. I am envious!! I only have a bit of penzance left and absolutely LOVE it. I think my tin is from 2011
  22. I think I’m ready to take the plunge and try it out to help lay off the darts at work and not kill anyone. Thanks tons for the post!
  23. Seeing Liamrig makes me yearn, not gonna lie. Hope you had an awesome birthday man!!
