I was doing a littler browsing around the interwebs recently, and I came across a pretty good sale over at Atlantic. They had a box of these for $100 (regular $170), so I figured I’d snag a box of 10. Why not at that price? When they arrived, I was a little disheartened to see a dried up Boveda pack in the box. These must have been sitting around for a while. I tossed them in my humidor and hoped for the best.
Which brings us to yesterday. These had been resting in my humidor for just under a month so I decided to give it a whirl. It’s a nice looking cigar. The band is especially cool in my opinion:

I gave it a very small straight cut and lit it up. The first few draws were spectacular with creamy notes of sourdough. The resistance on the draw is perfect. There is a nice long finish on the palate.
As things progress I pickup a little spice on the finish. In the early stages it’s a beautiful, medium bodied smoke.
I did run into a little bit of a construction issue about 20 minutes into the cigar, where it almost went out. I took a couple of big pulls and was able to get it going again. Things are still delicious at this point and the body begins to build a little bit, still a medium bodied smoke.
I pickup some mild grassy notes as things progress. There are hints of dry cocoa and coffee present as well. Near the end of the cigar some minty notes are present. I did have to relight the cigar once at the 40 minute mark.
Overall, this was an excellent cigar. I found the first third to really shine. The flavor profile did diminish somewhat in intensity as I progressed through the smoke. That being said, if you can find it for $10 like I was able to, it’s a no brainer.
Construction Notes: Slight issues. Nearly went out at the 20 minute mark and did need a relight at the 40 minute mark.
When to smoke it: Any time of day!
My Tasting Notes:

The Good
- First third was outstanding
The Bad
- Slight construction issues
- Flavor profile diminished in intensity after first third
