Quite enjoyed this today. Notes of nuts, earth and mild spice. No pepper 🌶️ in this one. Last third was the best as it built in intensity. Mild building to medium. Today’s smoke: AVO Signature Robusto (2008)

I pulled this one out of a dark and deep corner of the humidor this morning. ‘08 was written on the cello in sharpie. Someone sent this one to me a long time ago!

It’s amazing how much aroma the wrapper gives off. Still a strong barnyard aroma after resting for many years. The cold draw is very citrusy.

The first few draws are excellent with a lot of sourdough. After the sourdough tapers off, there’s a beautiful finish with notes of baking spices. Its smooth and mild.

About half through some grassy notes start to enter the mix. There’s still sourdough but it’s less present now.

The final third builds in body. It’s definitely moved onto a medium bodied cigar at this stage. Some nuttiness on the palate now with the spice still lingering on the finish.

Overall it was a great cigar. It burned beautifully with only one small touch up needed. A real treat to smoke something with that much age on it!
