For those that are not aware, this is the first smoke from Rob Ayala, the founder of an absolutely wonderful website and forum named Friends of Habanos.
I’ve had a chance to smoke two of these now. They begin with a buttery mouthfeel and there are also notes of bread present. A really nice start. There is a very mild pepper sensation on the tongue. The cigar is creamy and smooth. As things progress some notes of chocolate and dry cocoa enter the mix. If you like dry cocoa, the middle of this cigar is for you! The last third presents some grassy notes and mild pepper. This is definitely a complex cigar that changes throughout.
Construction notes: This is a very pleasant smoke that you do not need to fight. I had to do a couple of minor touchups as the burn line got a little wavy.
When to smoke it: Any time of day! It’s a great smoke for the morning or afternoon as it is not a strong smoke. It does have enough body to work in the evenings though.
