  1. Right now it's empty. The dry packs you mentioned, are you referring to those silica gel packs?
  2. Hey guys, I am using an air-tight tupperdore to store my cigars in. Admittedly I do not have the cedar sheet(s) or strips in the tupperdore, so maybe that's what's causing the problem (I don't know), but the Boveda pack I'm using is 69. According to my hygrometer though, the humdity level is 71. How do I keep the humidity closer to 69? Is it the fact my tupperdore doesn't have the cedar strips? How can I lower the humidity? Should I simply buy a lower humidity level rated Boveda pack? Lil' help?
  3. Aaahhhhh, so that's why! Figures. I thought it was something more complex & safety related (like mouldy cigars due to the infusion process, or toxicity concerns). Turns out it's just government run amuck. Well to the government ban I say... stick this (🖕) in yer pipe & smoke it! Hah!
  4. I'm still kinda new to the world of cigars, but isn't it like very easy to infuse your own cigars? Or am I mistaken? I saw a couple of YouTube videos a while back & if memory serves correct, all they did was put their cigars in their Tupperdore/Humidor with a shot glass of whisky for a few months and rotated the cigars every few weeks (I could be wrong about the frequency of rotation as I'm just going off my memory) and voila! You have infused cigars. So unless this isn't the same type of infused cigars, why the ban?
  5. Was looking at this webpage, and I was very intrigued. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.famous-smoke.com/cigaradvisor/best-starter-cigars/amp I was interested in trying out the Acid Kuba Kuba. Looks nice. After a comprehensive search, I couldn't find it in Canada. Apparently all infused cigars are banned in Canada. Is that right, or did I get bad information?
  6. Is there any manufacturers website that I could look this up at? Looking for information like if it's long leaf or short, how they classify it (mild/medium/full), etc.
  7. Hey guys, I picked up an Arista Maduro Gordo today. It appears to be an economical stick given the price tag, but it was still a fairly decent tasting cigar. I'm trying to find out some more information on this stick, but I don't seem to be finding the information I'm looking for. Is Arista the brand name? I can't find their website.
  8. I can't smoke more than one. Maybe it's because I'm still a relatively new cigar smoker. I don't know. But for me, smoking a cigar is something I associate with sitting down in my chair with, and either petting my dogs as they both vie for my attention or watching some YouTube videos. One cigar as I do either (or both) of those activities, and I'm relaxed. If I sit any longer than an hour or hour and a half (depending on my mood), and I feel like I'm wasting time. That's when I start to lose the enjoyment. I guess you could say that smoking a cigar (for me) is sort of like my spin on a fully conscious siesta. :)
  9. Hey guys, Just wondering which cigar you would recommend to somebody who is looking for one that's mild & very creamy tasting? Right now I'm smoking a Macanudo Inspirado, White. I was told it was mild, but maybe it's me but it seems more medium bodied. Then again, what the heck do I know? I'm still a newb at all this.
  10. One more question.... I have two bottles of Ronsonol Lighter Fluid. Would that lighter fluid be OK to use for cigars, or would it impart that oily substance onto the cigar?
  11. That's the exact lighter model I wanted to buy, but it showed they had none in stock. It wouldn't allow me to buy online either (the 'Add to Cart' feature was disabled). Here's the one I bought : https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/-skull-jetlite-butane-torch-lighter/A-p8589749e I think that's an image of some action hero, possibly The Punisher? Not sure. Anyways, I figured it's a Ronson so it should be the same thing. Yes? No? Maybe so?
  12. Well, I believe it was @Fatso who said he preferred Ronson. I Googled it, and Canadian Tire currently has a sale on Ronson lighters but all of the locations were out, with the exception of one. I drove for nearly an hour, and when I got there wouldn't you know it, they couldn't find one of them. I stood at the Customer Service desk for about fifteen minutes while the fella looked in the warehouse. I went home empty handed. They said it was an online inventory error. Just my luck. LOL. I went back on Google and found another reseller (Princess Auto), but they were selling a Ronson with a printed image on it for double the price. But still, it was not too bad. I ended up buying three of them, since it was a reasonable cost, despite being double the cost at Canadian Tire. Now all I have to do is buy two cutters. I plan on buying a stainless steel tabletop quad cutter I saw on Amazon, and I'll probably buy the Xikar VX2 for when I'm out and about.
  13. Thanks for the recommendation. I checked out the Xikar Forte, but that doesn't have the cutter option. I did come across one by Xikar called the Ultra Mag. I've taken your responses to heart, seeing as how you guys are more well versed in this, so I've decided to stay away from Colibri for the lighter component to what I'm looking for. I wanted to save some money by going with a combo option, but I guess it's really a matter of quality. Having said that, I'm going to look up some reviews on the Xikar Ultra Mag to see what they have to say about it. I went to local cigar shop and they had a quad stainless steel tabletop cutter. I think it'll be a toss-up between the Xikar Ultra Mag or buying them separately. If I buy them separately, I'll be buying the table top cutter and since other users advised me to stay away from Colibri, I'll probably end up buying the Xikar HP4 Quad lighter. That one looks kinda reliable. But I'm not educated on the different lighters (single flame vs. double flame vs. triple flame vs. quad flame). Aren't all these different flame levels just marketing gimmicks? I do have a Zippo lighter, but I've read online that you shouldn't use a Zippo lighter because the fuel in the lighter has chemicals in it which would somehow taint the taste of the cigar. But then I find myself asking if I purchase another lighter, wouldn't that be the same thing? I saw that they have these butane inserts by Vector Thunderbird (http://vectorkgm.com/official/th-insert-g-lighter/). What I don't understand is, I already have the OEM insert in my Zippo lighter. Can't I just put a better fuel in my Zippo? Won't that burn clean, or would I absolutely need the butane insert so that my cigars don't have that butane-smell infused into my cigars?
  14. Thanks for the feedback regarding the ligter aspect of it, but what about the cutter combo part? See, I would rather buy one combo if possible. Are you guys saying it's better to buy two separate items (lighter & cutter), or is there a lighter/cutter combo that you would recommend?
  15. Hey guys, I am still somewhat new to cigar smoking, and as such I'm missing a few of the accessories I need like a decent lighter & a cutter. Been thinking about investing in the Colibri Quantum lighter/cutter combo. Just wondering if anybody had any feedback on this particular model. http://www.colibri.com/smoking-accessories/lighters/cigar-lighter-cutter-combo-combination/quantum.html
