  1. Hi! My name is Rosa and I am a cigar smoker from Canada. I have been smoking cigars since I was 18 and I'm 23 now so it's been 5 years. I do run a cigar review youtube channel if you're interested in that kind of thing. My favourite cigars are Cubans usually, such as the Romeo Y Julieta No 2. Let me know yours!
  2. Ladies and Gents, Most of you in the GTA may already be aware of the Toronto Cigar Club, however for those of you who dont I wanted to make you so! The Toronto Cigar club is a Facebook group in which we schedule meetups in the GTA where we can get together and have ourselves a nice herf. Typically we try to meetup in a mutually beneficial location like Vaughan, since many group members are located on the outer fringes of the GTA. Currently I run the group as the administrator so if you would like to join please click the link below as request to join. I also allow people to make and schedule their own events. https://www.facebook.com/groups/torontocigarclub/
  3. Hey guys, Kind of an odd post but I do consume Backwoods (fairly) regularly. I purchase them from the gas station and pay something like $14.57 (I think) for a pack of 5. I was just wondering, is there an online source where I can save a few bucks and buy them in bulk? I've done a search for Backwoods+online+Canada but I can't seem to find a provider where I can buy them cheap. In fact, they're more expensive online. I only came across one cigar shop online, and they sell for more than the retail price, so that's not really an option. They're selling at this one online shop for like $18 + tax (https://www.cubancigar-shop.com/products/view/1774-backwoods-port-cigars) . I need Backwoods for a cheaper price, if possible. If not...I guess I'll stick to buying them at Petro Canada but...I was kinda hoping that I could save some money online.
  4. Thanks TJ
  5. So I'm fairly new to cigars and wanted to take some time to ask more experienced people a question. I've discovered that this hobby is very expensive to Canadians, especially young Canadians like myself. I have used xxx and xxx to buy from so far. The shipping price at xxx is $25 flat and is actually the best I've seen so far but a $5 cigar from a US site is $10+ on CC (Is this normal?). xxx has a great selection but they're US-based, charge pretty much $50 for shipping and then you have to tack up the duties and import fee's on top of it all. So I've come to this great forum to ask where do you guys get your cigars? I'm trying to find the best place at the best prices. I live in Ontario.
  6. I'm very new to cigar smoking. I've only had one, which was given to me as a sign of gratitude. I know nothing about the type of cigar that I was smoking, other than I loved it. Because I'm new to cigar smoking, I was wondering if anybody could recommend a smaller (4" cigar) that is creamy, and mild in flavour. I'd be most grateful. Thank you.

  9. I picked up this Cuban a few days ago as a single from my local B and M and thought it might help me deal with the Jets game 3 collapse. Like with that game, I ended up a little disappointed. Apologies for the lack of pictures. Feel and look: feel was a little firm, with a bit of give in it, just about perfect. Wrapper was nice and uniform, looked beautiful with no obvious blemishes or seams. A little oily too. The cedar wrap that came around it for lighting was also a nice visual touch. Draw: draw was firm throughout the cigar, even when I opened up the cut a little. This made smoking it difficult as I could never really get a nice flow of air through. Burn: the burn was the most disappointing thing. It was uneven to a large extent, even after a few touch ups. Totally unexpected, although I can't help but think this might have had something to do with the firm draw required. I also noticed the wrapper starting to peel a bit as I reached the second third. Smell: the smell was sweet, nutty, and not overpowering throughout the cigar. Taste: the redeeming part of this cigar was the taste. It was a light flavour that stayed on the palate for a good half minute between draws. The first third featured a lot of woods and a hint of honey, the second third introduced a bit of pepper to these other flavours, and the last third really brought them together and intensified them. There was a light to medium body to this smoke - just what I was looking for. The awesome flavours (to me) of this cigar is what is going to make me try this again, although perhaps from a different batch. I would like to chalk up the construction issues to perhaps an inexperienced roller, but I really don't know. I'll give this another shot at a future date to see if that is resolved. For now, 6.5/10 because of the construction and smoking frustrations that turned a pleasant, contemplative smoke with a friend into a hassle. TLDR: great flavours, but nagging construction issues 6.5/10.
  10. Here goes the first statement: I have never bought a cigar online. I did buy lots of other things online, but not cigars. When I buy cigars, its generally while traveling, while friends are traveling (but got burned with fakes more than once) and directly at the B&M <-- which really is not a great deal. I have read here that most people have them shipped. Seems interesting. but where from? What are the import laws concerning cigars? How to know we're getting the real deal? are there bad online dealers? I have seen a site in another province that states the law does not permit them to ship canada-wide, should that mean I cannot order from a canadian online store? What about shipping, will it impact my sticks? Is the shipping fee less than the B&M overprice? All in all, what's the deal with buying online, how/where/what? Disclaimer: if this is covered somewhere, I haven't seen it. Please politely point me in the right direction. Thanks a lot
