Louich
Hey guys, my mom bought me this nice lighter (pergusa model if I remember correctly) for chrismas while she was in Fla. You guess it, after 6 months it is not lighting up anymore :-( Still has a spark. Emptied, purged and refilled to be sure the is not air trapped. Still no flame... Any ideas ? I contacted the seller but they told me to ship it to colibri with the proof of purchase. It being a gift I dont have the proof of purchase plus I have to ship to the US and with my luck they ll resend it with UPS and I'll get raped with their stupid rates... Any insight, help, comments, idea, etc is welcome !
Bacchus
Have you tried cleaning the jets? I cleaned mine with a piece of guitar string because it fitted in the jet holes. Also use compressed air to blast the jet area. I'm assuming you are using good tripled filtered butan and not the cheap Ronson stuff..? Louich
I have nit tried to clean the jets yet (now where are those guitar strings ?) The butane says high quality but not triple treated... Cause of the problem ?
Louich
I just tried lighting it with my el cheap (who work better ...) the butane lights up but the torch flame is not complete so I think it is a good track. Now how to find something small enough to fit in the small holes of the burner...
Bos
Do you have the compressed air can that you use for the keyboards etc? May do the trick.
Eddy_bullpoo
maybe us an old tooth brush and see if you can get in there, or use your wife's. Bos
Shelly99
Give Morton Clarke a call in Richmond BC, they are the distributor in Canada for Colibri. Ask them if they can look after you. Usually they are good about this, hopefully they can help you.

Cause of the problem ? Yeah, you need good (3x filtered or more) butane if you want these torch lighters to work properly. Nibo, Colibri, Xikar,Vector are brands you'll want to look for... I messed up my first lighter, a Colibri, using cheap Ronson stuff until a friend explained to me the differences in butane quality. Louich
I learn the quality butane part ! Thanks for all the suggestions Ill try to fix the damn thing this week end.
GottaBeKD
I had issues with cheap fluid and ended up having to use my compressor to clean the jets. Emptied and purged the lighter. Then set it to the highest setting to open the valve fully and pressed the igniter. While pressed I blew in 120 psi for about 30 seconds. Put in a bit of good butane and burned it all out. Then repeated the purge and pressurized air. Running perfectly now.
Lord Vader
Was it this lighter? http://canadacigarforum.com/forumv2/index.php?/topic/731-tonino-lamborghini/
Louich
Nop it the on with the ingniton button on the face (pergusa I think). It has a double flame and the torch burner has insanely small holes. Lol
CigarDave
If you have spark, make sure the spark is hitting the element, sometimes the heat causes warping to where it will bend the spark wire and the spark will hit another part of the lighter. They usually have a small plastic sleeve to insulate it from misfires, the heat will burn it off over time. If it looks like that just bend/adjust it down. If there is proper spark make sure the gas is getting out without a piece of lint or debris caught in the element, small pieces will cause it to not light, and the high quality fluid is a must, I mean we don't smoke Century Sam lol. Also, this helps in some cases, when you perfectly it, press the igniter so you hear gas coming out and move the -\+ up and down a few times, the valve sometimes get stuck and that usually loosens things up, the try to light it a few times to check. Good luck.
Louich
Ill revisit with those hints Dave. I still have to find something small enough to actually 'play' unclog the burner. And very bad customer service. Two weeks and no answer from colibri... Im never buying those cheaps lighters....

Usually you can vring it up to a jewler and he should be able to put a new battery in it (happened to mine and worked out perfectly)Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
