Smokenscotch Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Beautiful humi Jeeper, those gars look tasty. Thanks for sharing. Quote
zkenny Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Well, I've got nothing on all these big cabinet humidors, but this is my new (and first) humidor. I'm loving the glass top, and inside is my humble collection CigarsOnDanforth and Sanchez 2 Quote
Smokenscotch Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 zkenny, that's a nice humi you have there. Nice tubo collection you have also. I still haven't tried those R&J tubo's. Soon I hope. Quote
davidjbillo Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Ha! I have the same hygrometer! Bought it at Canadian Tire. Quote
davidjbillo Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 My collection is even more humble than zkenny's. Pics of my two tupperdors taken back in the summer when I had about two dozen. Now down to a single tupperdor and ten cigars. IMAG0498 by dbillo, on Flickr IMAG0499 by dbillo, on Flickr tricam_bob and CigarsOnDanforth 2 Quote

Now down to a single tupperdor and ten cigars. That's a nice collection you have there. It takes a while to build it up, but believe me, you will. I find the collecting just as enjoyable as the smoking (well, almost, lol). Also, those Canadian Tire Hydrometers are not so great I'm finding. They all seem to be off by a few lately. I think I may go back to the kind I can calibrate. I have to much into my collection to be concerned with the correct humidity and if the device is working. Too stressful Quote
davidjbillo Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 ...those Canadian Tire Hydrometers are not so great I'm finding. They all seem to be off by a few lately. I think I may go back to the kind I can calibrate... Yeah, I bought two different brands from CTC (Jeeper4fun has both the same ones in his humidor), and both salt tested at 5% under, so I just need to mentally add 5 to whatever they are indicating. Been thinking of getting a couple of Xikar ones, but other than the ability to calibrate them, I don't know that they are any more precise. Quote
DrinkSmokeGolf Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Grab one of these. Always bang on! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0007W1EA6 Quote

Blackz32tt Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 I like the new xikar ones theyve always worked well and upon yearly recalibration they still are bang on. Quote
kidvett Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Hello all Let me introduce to you my ``humidor family``. The whole isnt on par with many afectionados here but they suit me fine... The small one for daytime smokes, kept in the living room close by...Light to medium offerings. Then is my ``main one``, Cohiba desktop (yes I know the lid is cracked) with both CC & NC. This is where I go for real smokes... Lastly is the ``reserve humidor``... Both the desktop & reserve are in the basement for cooler temperatures. I use Boveda packets in the small & desktop humi, the reserve is equiped with a humidifier machine...Needless to say I go down in the basement every day just to make sure everyone in the family is fine... Smokenscotch Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Beautiful collection kidvett. What type of humidification device do you use in the stand up large cabinet? Quote

Smokenscotch Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Looks like a cigar oasis XL Thanks. I never had great luck with my Hydra. Perhaps I should give it another chance sometime. Quote
kidvett Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Gents, Thanks fot the nice words on the ``humi family`` Yes the humidifier device in the big one is an Oasis XL, very reliable & no worries...Did a recent inventory of what's in stock & some favs are getting low !! I mean good smokes like BBF, RASS, VSG...Tough sometimes to keep those afloat as new ``samplers`` always come in easily... Mk Quote
