Greetings everyone, it has come to attention that quite a few of us need to revisit the NC week. Seems that with our tendency to the sacred island on this site some of us can forget about all the other wonderful sticks that are floating around out there.

Let's have a celebration of a week of Nicaragua, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Bahamas, Ecuador, Brazil, heck even America!  I am sure I am missing some...get out your NC sticks and smoke away.

What a great way to celebrate entering some sort of stage of being able to get back outside 👍socialize safely and all the rest of what's to come that we have been sacrificing for the past few months.

Cheers folks, bring it on.

  • 2 weeks later...

Let’s get this show on the road 😁

Alec Bradley American Classic corona... one of the few Connecticut shade wrapped cigars that I like.

This one purchased in Feb 2017.

Very smooooth after 3 years in the humidor... some leather, aged tobacco, and a bit of bittersweet cocoa... with a very slight bitterness in the back of the throat which is pleasurable and not offensive. By mid way a marzipan flavour as well.

Crowned Heads Four Kicks Robusto

I bought this stick a couple of weeks ago from my local cigar shop. I was immediately attracted to the deep rosado wrapper. It’s not the smoothest roll but such a great colour.
Flavour wise, pre light I got a nice sweet tobacco scent and as I lit it, creamy leather with a hint of pepper. Strength was just above medium. Lots of smoke production.

After the first few draws, the pepper died down and I got a bit of earthy flavours. Both of these subsided with time and the overall strength got milder, staying at medium. Towards the end the pepper came back as did a faint earthy flavour.
Burn was excellent, although the ash started going crooked as you can see in the photo. I opted to use a punch instead of a cutter as the wrapper seemed a little brittle and I was worried my cutter would damage the cap. Draw started fine, got more snug after the first third, And opened up again on the last third. Not sure if this would have need different had I used a cutter.
Overall, this was a decent cigar. Not totally up my alley but decent nonetheless.

Joya de Nicaragua Dark Corojo Peligroso.... purchased February ‘19.

Normally one of my favourites.... this particular stick not so much [emoji2955]

Very dark flavours... deep cocoa, molasses, earth.

Wrapper like a thick piece of leather, and all that ligero in the filler, sometimes you get some burn issues.

Had to lay it down by the last third as it was getting so hot and tunnelling badly.

Grand Habano Vintage 2002

This stick has been in my humidor for approximately 4 years. It was part of a bundle I purchased while driving through Virginia.
Produced lots of smoke, but overall pretty light and tasteless. Not a whole lot of flavour other than a slight bitterness on the tip of my tongue

Burn was even, with no issues but draw was very light, zero resistance.

Brickhouse Double Connecticut
Up until the end of the first third there wasn’t much going on, but after that some sweetness and cream came in.
A bit of spice and cedar added to the creaminess. All in all a nice smoke and excellent draw and burn. Thank you @Craftsman a nice way to start NC week. 2892223E-AD60-4233-829C-8BE28EBE1252.thumb.jpeg.321e9df99fbb77244914ba1ee1f44dac.jpeg

Muwat +11... purchased November ‘17...
A collaboration between Drew Estate and Joya de Nicaragua, you can really taste the JDN influence [emoji1303]

Almost like an Undercrown crossed with an Antano 1970 in flavour and body, but with only medium strength.

Cream, sweet spices, some leather, some of that stewed fruity JDN sig flavour.... and very smooth retrohale.

Working through the Camacho's I have my in humidor. This one was the connecticut and an overall enjoyable smoke. It's a light/medium bodied cigar, perfect for the morning with no strength nicotine wise that I could sense. I'm not the best a picking out flavous, so I'll just say overall it was a smooth smoke with a touch of pepper both on the finish and retrohale. Paired well with my coffee and the smoke output was impressive.

Also light up this AB. I don't have much to say because I forgot I had a team meeting scheduled and I was more focused on that then the actual flavours. It was a medium bodied smoke, no strength that I could sense, and one I would like to try again and be able to pay attention to it. It seemed to have some complexity to it and the flavours are in my wheelhouse.
