DrinkSmokeGolf Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 Have you tried the Tapatalk app? Quote
dvickery Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Waylon please ... I can barely use my phone . Jeeze Quote
Mr. King Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 derrek the tapatalk app makes it very easy, upload pics directly from your phone. I can set you up the next time we see each other. Quote
GrouchoMarx Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 "disk space growing very large (and expensive)" Huh? disk space is cheap. Most web servers practically give it away. A terra is the new norm - they're doing "picas" now. No pic kinda defeats the purpose of the forum. You could also just re-cycle storage. Delete all pictures (videos are HUGE) older than ... 2 years? Andy Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 www.photobucket.com is really easy to use and there is an app for it DrinkSmokeGolf 1 Quote

DrinkSmokeGolf Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 By the way, I do hope this is temporary. I'll try to find a better solution but in the meantime you'll need to upload pics to an external site. Thanks for your patience all! Craftsman 1 Quote

Believe me, my comment was in no way a slight on you. I have dealt with web hosts in the past, and my experience was that I started at 2 terras. More was minimally extra - but the host also mentioned to delete old content. Cheers, Quote
DrinkSmokeGolf Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 @GrouchoMarx Understood. There are lots of cheap hosts out there but CCF does not run on one of them. GrouchoMarx 1 Quote
Boss Hog Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Waylon, Would hosting various fundraisers where 100% of the profits go to the forums be an option? None of these shady auctions where the sole purpose is for the host to unload is unwanted boxes at a profit. Several ideas have come to mind over the last few months, whether it be unique CCF merchandise, cigars... Not sure how much funds would need to be generated but, it is always something that could be discussed. Frankly, I was contemplating getting in touch with you about this matter. Question of getting permission to use the forum logo and such. Just a thought. Willing to assist in anyway that I can. Surely other fine gents on here would as well. DrinkSmokeGolf Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 I'm researching some solutions. It looks like I can move photos to Amazon Web Storage (AWS) for relatively cheap. I'll keep working on it boys! Sam92, Sanchez, Bacchus and 5 others 8 Quote
Andy Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Seriously, using imagehosting is really easy, pick upload photo's, use bbcode link for forums, there you have it. This is what I like about photobucket, with the app is has to be even easier, if you can figure out how to upload images on here, you should be able to figure out something like photobucket easily. You just click on the bbcode link for forums that will be under the pictures automatically, press the link on your phone, let it copy it, then come to the forum and hit paste. If you have to back out of everything with the home button to get back to the forum, the paste will still be there. You also don't have to do any image inserting on the forum, photobucket does it automatically with the bbcode. Quote
Andy Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 @dvickery with photobucket, upload pic, click on pic, share image, copy direct link option, on ccf choose insert other media, choose insert from url, paste link in, type whatever you want, hit submit reply. I click on direct link from photo bucket, choose select all, choose copy, then paste into insert url from insert other media at right hand bottom in post when you submit reply to topic. Haven't downloaded the app yet, it will probably be easier with that, hope this helps. Quote
dvickery Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 @Andy nope ... doesn't help . took me 1 1/2 hrs just to open an acct with Flickr ... can't figger out beyond joining what to do . dont think I will do photobucket . derrek Quote

I remember the first time someone told me just copy and paste the link and I had no idea what they were talking about. Quote
