Heh all - it's been too long since our last blind tasting I think!

I need three volunteers please. All you need to do is smoke the cigar, write up a short review, and post your guess. You do not need to be an expert reviewer in any way. It's even better if you have a poor palate and we can all laugh at your horrible guess.

Who wants in?

1. canucks6024
2. French1
3. Siglo

I smoked my Blind Tasting stick tonight and it was great! Thank you to @@DrinkSmokeGolf for the opportunity to participate in this - it's my first written review so please bear with me.

The cigar that was sent to me was well-constructed and firm to the touch. It appears to have a Colorado wrapper and was approximately 5" long with a 52 ring gauge. I admit that, when I received this cigar I was almost positive I knew what it was... As such I went into this expecting a specific profile... More on that later.

Here goes:

Cutter: Xikar double-blade guillotine
Lighter: Zippo Blu Butane Lighter
Drink: Forty Creek Copper Pot Reserve (2 fingers... very fat fingers). :)

Pre-Light flavors were woody with mild spices. The draw was firm but pleasant.

After lighting the pre-light flavors carried through for the first third. Smoke was mild and creamy; my first clue that my initial guess was off. The first third was quite mild with some woody flavors... Possibly some coffee flavors as well.

The second third was slightly stronger and I picked up some saltiness and nutty flavors. The smoke remained creamy and some hints of coffee came through on the retrohale. Yep, definitely not what I was expecting... Too mild. It feels like I've had this cigar before but can't place it...

The final third became hot, likely because I was smoking too quickly. I tried to slow down and it ended up going out on me. After a quick relight I continued to pick up hints of spice, possibly pepper as well as some nutty flavors. The flavours held out until the end and I found it to be a very enjoyable smoke. Afterwards it hit me - I think I remember where I tasted these flavors before!!

The burn throughout was even and consistent, not requiring any touch ups and only one relight which was likely user error.

So as not to influence the other two smokers, I have PM'd my guess to DSG directly. If he wishes to post it on here he is welcome to add to my review or reply separately.

Again, Thank you to DSG for the opportunity to participate in this - I enjoyed it very much!!

Cheers,

André - French1
