mcicvara
Looking for opinions from the experts out there. Is this a good candidate for a wineador considering it has 2 seperate zones (vertical divider)? Thanks Sanchez, Toolguy, Smokintrees and 1 other

Toolguy
I did a humidor in the same unit. Worked great. Just have to treat each side individually unless you drill through the middle to equalize. Will find some photos and post. mcicvara

Have a couple of questions: Did you remove existing fans? I was thinking about removing control panels, good idea? Did you drill through vertical divider? Any other tips would be appreciated. ToothlessCog
Looks like it would be a great wineador. I wired up some small blower fans to a timer to move air around. One to move air up and one to blow towards the back. Added LED strip lights on the door and taped up the drain holes as well since it’s not a working unit. mcicvara

It looked like too much work for little benefit. I didn't drill through the divider. I was concerned with hitting coolant lines. I had electronic humidifiers in each side. I'm a woodworker so I made the shelf trays custom to fit the shelf supports. It all worked really well. I just outgrew the size and lucked out finding a six foot high humidor available used for cheap locally. mcicvara
mcicvara
Decided to gut most of the parts out. Didn't take long, it turns out that I'm good at destroying things. tricam_bob, Sanchez and vladdraq

Are you going to do anything with the empty spaces?
mcicvara
Planning to get some Spanish cedar for backing and shelves. Also considering fans and LED lights. Toolguy

mcicvara
That's all Spanish cedar I can find in 100 km radius. 1/4" x 4" x 5'. Sanchez

I don't want to dissapoint you, but western cedar is used mostly for linen chests because it's super aromatic. Spanish cedar belongs to mahogony family and it's known for superb properties for humidors. Boss Hog, vladdraq and Sanchez
Toolguy
It’s all good. I’ve used it for years. Wonderful in the humidor. Yellow cedar would be too strong. mcicvara

At least you can find the 1/4 " boards. All I could find in Vancouver was the raw planks I had to mill myself (no bandsaw either!). It's not a cheap way to go but, by coincidence, do any of the stock drawers at OLH fit your molded plastic 'drawer supports'? Assuming you want drawers of course? I'd be inclined to use all the cedar you have for the back wall and the top and then just put in 2 or the shelves it came with. Depends on whether you want to be a showcase or bulk storage I suppose. So much free advice coming your way! LOL! Toolguy and mcicvara 1
mcicvara
Oh yeah, not cheap stuff. I'm already questioning my investment. Could you please send me a link for OLH, couldn find anything on Google. Thanks Toolguy
