Lord Vader Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Good stuff. My wife wants to buy a half a cow and half it cut up so when I talk to a butcher I'm gonna ask for some jerky cuts. Shade and smokin 2 Quote
Rye Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Sooo done with turkey! Had to take full advantage of plus side double digit temps, so I fired up the grill. Thankfully, the local butcher had ribeyes on sale too! leatherman, chefred, GottaBeKD and 3 others 6 Quote

Shade Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Good stuff. My wife wants to buy a half a cow and half it cut up so when I talk to a butcher I'm gonna ask for some jerky cuts. Do it! Buying a cow is awesome. Did that a while back with my girls mother and sister and the quality of meat is so much better, and way cheaper than buying in the stores in the long run. Be prepared though, the packages they give you may look small, but they're damn heavy! Quote
The Phoenix Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I do 2" strip loins for about 20 minutes in an oven until internal temp is around 95F. Then about 90 seconds per side in a VERY hot pan. It's a technique from America's test kitchen and gives amazing results. Lunch was a green drink with lots of whey protein. Dinner - pork loin (with a coco chili pepper rub) with mango chutney. All of the pics here are making me hungry!!! Quote

But afraid to deviate from getting the coals as hot as I can and 60-90 seconds a side x 2. Quote
