{"id":3050,"date":"2019-12-10T09:40:30","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T17:40:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/canadacigarforum.com\/homev3\/?p=3050"},"modified":"2019-12-10T09:40:30","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T17:40:30","slug":"edmontons-q-cigar-room","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/canadacigarforum.com\/homev3\/?p=3050","title":{"rendered":"Edmonton&#8217;s Q Cigar Room"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"author-wrap\"><span class=\"name\">Posted by: Nick Lees, Edmonton Journal<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"byline-dates\">Updated: December 8, 2019<\/div>\n<p>If a friend hadn\u2019t coaxed Quentin Gardiner into smoking a Cuban cigar 12 years ago, Edmonton would today not have the only cigar lounge west of Quebec.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy cigar that day was a Cuban Cohiba Siglo VI that was long, robust and complex,\u201d says the accountant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been a cigar enthusiast since that first smoke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gardiner interested friends in the \u201ctranquility and camaraderie\u201d of cigar smoking and together last August they opened the $2.2-million Q Cigar Room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe River Cree Development Corp. was constructing freestanding buildings east of the casino. We approached them about opening a cigar room,\u201d says Greg Nash, a friend of Gardiner\u2019s and president of Seagate Contract Management, which constructed Q.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe band was very receptive to our idea and it has been a pleasure to work with them.
