I recently snagged a box of JLS No.2’s so I decided to fire one up yesterday. It’s a pretty good looking cigar. The Juan Lopez band is very minimalist which gives it an old school look. This particular box have beautiful, dark and rich wrappers with very few veins.<\/p>\n

I gave it a punch cut and took a cold draw. The draw feels perfect but there’s not much flavour to report on the cold draw. The aroma at cold is also fairly muted.<\/p>\n

I fire it up and the first few draws are quite enjoyable. There is a rich, buttery mouth feel in the early stages. There is a slight saltiness mixing in with a predominantly nutty flavour profile. There is not much spice present but the finish lingers with a slight tingle on the tongue.<\/p>\n

The construction on this cigar is perfect. The draw is firm. The ash holds on for an inch or two and there are no touch-ups required. Unfortunately, the flavour profile begins to mute somewhat. The oily mouthfeel remains intact but there’s not much else to report.<\/p>\n

I continue smoking the cigar hoping that the flavour profile will wake up, but alas, it is not to be. The cigar remains quite muted. It is\u00a0still enjoyable, however, as the construction is spot on.\u00a0I do begin\u00a0to catch a bit of a nicotine buzz, but the strength never goes past medium. Smoking time was one hour.<\/p>\n

Overall, not a mind blowing experience by any means but not terrible either. As these cigars are still quite young, I do believe they will benefit from some more rest. I’ll revisit in 6 months or so and update this review then.<\/p>\n
