Andy
Didn't even have to think about tonights cigar. ERDM demi tasse from 1990. I figure 29 years is enough age 😂😂. Paired with a martini which I didn't have to think about either. From @dvickery first grey cup contest I won where I picked Ottawa and they did some last minute magic which got me a winning score. I'll miss Derek's reviews, "tastes like tobacco" . The guy was so down to earth just from experiencing him on this forum. I've been to other forums and this one is just home, there's no petty bickering, just good botl shooting the shit. I love going back on the what are you smoking thread and seeing what fucking noobs everyone was at one point, like smoking all 3 culebras at once 😆😆😆. Derrik was such a patient guy who had a wealth of knowledge and a kind of final say on matters, if it was good for him it was good for everyone. And his contest prizes were out of this world!! He wasn't opening up boxes of his new stuff or sending stuff he didn't like, it was like here's some Cigars that are smoking great for me right now, and they'd be like pre-2000 Cigars most of us would dream to have, and he'd give you like 6. I remember telling people I worked with and be like holy shit this would be like 500$ worth of Cigars easily if you put the age factor in. Thinking back to last grey cup there were 3 of us who won and we all got the same sticks, and they were all out of this world, I'm wondering if he knew his time was coming. This is only the 4th cigar of the 2 winnings from him I've smoked. I know his philosophy was they're just Cigars, smoke them, any occasion is a special occasion. Anyways rest in peace brother. The grey cup contest sticks were basically one cigar from every open box he had at the time of the contests, regardless of what they were or how many winners there was they all got the same prize. Andy
98 tres petite corona from the first grey cup contest I won from @dvickery R.I.P. 2nd last day of vacation so thought I'd break out a special cigar. Amazing, loooong finish, like a minute of flavour after each puff. Around the last 3rd that sourdough flavour broke out. What an experience.
