PolarBear
Hello everyone, A colleague of mine is travelling to Varadero Dec 22-29. He will be staying at Iberostar Laguna Azul. He has offered to bring me back cigars but this is his first time to Cuba so I wanted to ask the regulars on here some questions... I am assuming LCDH Varadero at Plaza America is the best option if he is not travelling far from the resort? My previous mule never left the resort so they purchased the cigars at the airport (with no issues). I am looking for regular production cigars, does anyone have an update on stock levels at LCDH Varadero? Other information you can share? Any input from members with experience is greatly appreciated!
mcicvara
Plaza America LCDH was always well stocked when I was there. And judging by the high stock level at Guardalavaca in October, there shouldn't be any shortage in Varadero. PolarBear

vcool
As always, they should stay away from the LCDH at Calle 62. Cuban folks often refer you to this one, but it is a scam place. Prices are always a mess, and well over list prices. I've always found stock levels to be similar at Plaza Americas, without as much hassle. Boss Hog
Here right now. Plenty of regular stock to be had. Stacks of boxes of the Punch Punch 48, the Hoyo de Monterrey Elegantes, Punch Regios de Punch Edición Limitada 2017, Partagás Maduro No. 1 Forget about finding any Trinidad La Trova. Hope this helps. mcicvara, Cigarguy and Zedman05

Plenty, my fellow brother. No Serrano or Turquino coffee beans anywhere. Even the resorts are using ground coffee. They were serving Heineken instead of the usual Cristal beer. Boss Hog
Have your friend visit the first craft brewery to open in Varadero. Quality beer and great food. Cigarguy, GrouchoMarx, Bacchus and 9 others

vcool
How is the beer? They had one in Havana for a while. I recall them serving three beers, dark, medium and light... and they all tasted very similar.
Smokintrees
Hey guys any feedback on the stock at Plaza America or if the trip to the Factoria Varadero is worth the travel?
dvickery
Cigar store on 63rd in vara probably sells a thousand boxes a month ... what they had in stock two weeks ago has no relation to what is on the shelves today ... sorry to be a Debbie downer ... plaza America would not be far behind volume wise . derrek
