I'm from the east coast and usually pick up my cigars at Griffen's Smoke Shop, which is part of Sobey's in this neck of the woods. I usually go for the CAO or Don Tomas sticks. One of my favorites have been the CAO Flathead series, particularly the Camshaft stick. I have been buying these sticks for the last number of years and price is usually around $10.95 per stick. Last weekend I bought two sticks for the weekend for a total price of around $25 taxes in. This week, nearly all the cigars have doubled in price with a single Camshaft stick selling for just under $25, and that's before taxes.
What the heck is going on that would see an over 100% price jump in a single week?
Has anyone else heard what might be driving this?
