  1. -- Not so much "classic" but still classy, especially when you're a passenger in the back seat sipping scotch! No smoking though until you reach the destination. I've always had a love for Bentleys and my dream came true when I was able to purchase my dream ride. She's Beluga black with Cotswold interior and 500hp with 738 foot pounds of torque!! However, she's a lot to move weighing in at a little more than 3 tons.
  2. -- With the combination of this virus and self isolating business of late I went down to the insurance shop and got my VRod Muscle insured to enjoy the great sunny weather we've been enjoying here in Victoria.
  3. -- Government outlet in Camaguey, punch clown. Everywhere I went stock was very limited. Holguin didn't have much at all. I went to Camaguey and this was the best I could muster. Even then it was only these 10 pack crates. I've never witnessed things so dry there. And I'm talking full size walk-in humidors! Everything is being sent north to Havana and Verodero.
  4. -- I've since sanitized and re-seasoned the humidor. All stock has been frozen and then re-introduced back into my humidor. Strangely enough, cigars that were in the little library drawers were completely untouched. I guess the little buggers preferred the low hanging fruit. As I mentioned above all cigars are now quarantined and straight into the freezer, including these Punch La Islas and Magnum 54's I just imported from Cuba. I'm not taking any more chances.
  5. -- These are just 3 pics of the damage caused and taken before putting them in the freezer. That one Montecristo was the most damaged and went straight to the bin. The 20-30 others I've been smoking at leisure. Sometimes I have to put a finger over a hole or even Scotch tape the holes. I'm still managing to smoke them regardless. Freeze your cigars people! I know I am from now on.
  6. -- Absolutely everything is in the freezer or refrigerator now (I'm doing it in two steps with 2 fridges and 2 freezers cause I have so many sticks). I pulled out a box of 'Cuabas' and even found a live beetle in the bottom of that box of 10 sticks! Thankfully the bugger had only managed to make a couple tiny holes. Today I wipe down and re-season my entire humidor. I'll then reintroduce the sticks back into it and keep a watchful eye on things. Any sticks with holes will go into a separate small humidor I have and be smoked in due course. And from now on every single purchase I make will be quarantined and froze before introducing it into the humidor.
  7. -- It is usually hovering around 62-64% here in Victoria B.C. The 3 live beetles were in the bottom of two of the cigar boxes -- the Montecristos and Hoyo's. I'm going to consider freezing the whole bloody lot.
  8. -- What a devastating day. I decided to check on my humidor today and when I shone the light from my iPhone on the humidor meter and cigars I noticed holes! Panicking I scanned more boxes with the light and spotted more holes! Immediately I took out all the boxes to inspect and found the beetles had infiltrated about 5 boxes of cigars, including some Cohiba Esplendido's and Cohiba Exquisitos. The most affected were a box of Montecristo #4 and a box of Hoyo de Monterrey. In total I had to toss 5 sticks that were beyond damaged and there were probably another 20-25 affected with holes. I've Ziploc'd them all and into the freezer they go. After 4 or 5 days I'll reintroduce them to my humidor again. Luckily I had probably another 500 or so cigars that were unaffected. The ones with holes I'll attempt to smoke regardless. I just can't toss that much investment into the bin. The weird thing is I've had many of these cigars for a year, or two, or more in the humidor with no issue. It boggles my mind where the damn things came from. But they were there clear as day. I even saw 3 live ones . . . and killed them. From now on everything goes in the freezer before the humidor.
  9. -- Hi fellas . . . and gals (if there are any?). Stumbled upon this forum in my never-ending quest for Cuban enlightment. As you might have guessed I have a penchant for anything Cuban, especially cigars. But I also love the history of the country itself and travel there at least once or twice a year to sate my appetite. I prefer off the beaten track myself and try to avoid the resort thing. My name is Mediumtall (I'm 5'11"), 46 years of age and hail from the great city of Victoria B.C (born and raised). I look forward to exploring the forum and meeting some of the inhabitants within.
  10. -- I have seven Cuban Punch Coronations (tubos) that are blooming quite nicely.
  11. -- Started out with a small Romeo y Julieta humidor, then purchased a small Cohiba humidor. Both were soon jammed with Cubans and found humidity was hard to control. Decided to go big and roomy with better temperature control. It now sits in a corner of the dining room on display and goes well with the "oldness" of the house itself. As you can see I love my Cubans and make a trip to Cuba (Holguin mostly) at least twice a year. Locally I try to snatch up any Limited Editions that might pop up. It's an addiction.
