Marquardt65
Bought my calibri V-cut a month ago and haven't looked back. Used cheap guillotine cutters before and never found the draw that well. I find with the V I get a perfect draw every time but like it's been said before it's whatever works for you. yyzcigars
stevorabs
A good V-Cut (Colibri/Xikar. Even Lotus make a fine one) is an essential tool in one's arsenal. Great clean cut, massive draw, and will hold the cap intact as long as you're not a wet or chompy smoker. The only pitfall I have experienced is the bitter tar build up toward the end of the occasional Nicaraguan cigar, as it accentuates all that spice, pepper and leather. Other than that, it's a joy. Punch cut works well, but as others have noted, it can sometimes break the cap is the leaf is thick or not well humidified. If I use a punch on a Maduro wrapper, for eg, I usually moisten it first, then punch it. Straight cut I use for torpedos/ figurados and not much else. Thebig1
Just started using a colibri v cutter. Like it a lot. But it's bulky and heavier to carry. Saw a lot of guys at my cigar lounge using a palio guillotine also. Think I'll buy one to carry too. I'll keep me cheap cuba cutter for a friend in need. yyzcigars
Just got my Calibri SV cutter. Absolutely it! The V-cut has an amazing draw. The cutter is a bit bulky and heavy but this is for home use. Not a big deal. Feels substantial in my hand. Have to find a lighter V-Cut for traveling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
